At Riza Natural Oils & Remedies, we specialise in providing aromatherapy-based treatments and oils for hair, skin and total well-being. Riza was created to solve frustrating skin and hair problems while enhancing emotional health and well-being.
Detola, the founder of RIZA is an essential oil specialist and qualified aromatherapist who splits her time between the UK and Nigeria.
Her personal struggles with hair loss inspired Detola to create a hair products line using natural essential oils. The journey started with her searching for products and visiting different salons to help with her thinning hair, hair breakage and dandruff. Initially, she thought the hair loss was genetic, but it was having such an impact on her self-confidence, she was inspired to try and change it. Afro-Caribbean hair products were limited in London and nothing was working so Detola became determined to find solutions.
Detola researched ingredients used in haircare products and found chemicals such as mineral oils,chlorine, and alcohol. This actually worried her because she wanted a more natural solution. Harsh chemicals were only making her skin and scalp even more distressed, which she believed was causing her hair loss.
During that period, Detola worked in Business Continuity / Compliance but spent her evenings and weekends mixing up natural ingredients in her kitchen to improve her hair and skin health. Detola took time to learn the science behind essential oils, noticing the positive impacts the right mixture of blends could have on one’s central nervous system. She believes, like many others, that the right
balance of minerals applied to your skin can provide healing effects whilst repairing the damages outside and inside our bodies.
Detola created products that were so good she had to share them. So she created the brand RIZA. In a bid to improve the quality of her products, she partnered with manufacturers to ensure that her formulations were perfect before being available to others. Detola still creates in her kitchen mixing bespoke blends for her clients. It is her mission to help people attain and retain self-confidence while maintaining their crown of beauty.
RIZA launched its first product - The Hydrating Hair Mist in 2019 into Lagos, Nigeria. There was a gap in the market for high efficacy, environmentally sustainable and affordable natural skin and haircare.
Our company continues to expand its range with affordable, natural hair and skin care products loaded with vitamins, antioxidants, essential minerals, and fatty acids, loved by Afro-Caribbeans across the world. We also specialise in Well-being products such as essential oils, massage oils and candles for the body and the home.
All our products are free from parabens, petroleum, mineral oil and artificial colours and our ingredients are ethically sourced and environmentally friendly. Our suppliers are committed to sustainable production, environmental protection and community support and quality. We only ever use premium essential oils, and we use Shea Butter and Coconut Oil sourced from Ghana and Nigeria.
